Title: Youth Intern
Hours: 10 hours per week


Primary Duties:
The Youth Intern to the Jr. High and High School students of St. Andrew’s will attend and help lead youth activities and events, attend youth staff meetings, and Sunday morning worship services. The Youth Intern will provide leadership to all St. Andrew’s sponsored youth activities and help carry out the vision and goals of the Youth Department as set forth by the leadership of St. Andrews.


Major Responsibilities:

  • Disciple and mentor students in the jr. high and/or high school department

  • Attend and help lead all St. Andrew’s youth events, including: camps, weekend activities, special events, Pipeline, small groups, and Den.

  • Assist in planning and organizing youth activities.

  • Assist in leading Bible studies.

  • Attend all youth staff leadership meetings and training sessions.

  • Assist in projects and activities pertaining to the youth program.

  • Pursue your own personal spiritual growth in Christ. Be a good role model for the students.

  • Abide by all safety policies and procedures as laid down by the Session and leadership of the church.

Primary Working Relationships:
Youth Director, Senior Pastor, Youth Committee


Job Requirements:
A strong personal faith in Jesus Christ. A solid understanding of biblical teaching. Experience working with youth. An ability to lead and be relational with Jr. High and/or High School students. A willingness to work with and submit to the leadership of the Student Ministries Director.

Responsibilities during Pipeline (Youth Group Meetings)

  • Show up an hour early for meeting

  • Lead Games at Pipeline (Future goal: teach someone to lead)

  • May be asked to lead a small group discussion

  • Building relationships with youth during our time of fellowship, food, and games.


Responsibilities for Den (Sunday Morning Meetings)

  • Build relationships/mentor

  •  Help with youth behavior if needed

  • Seek own growth in Christ

  • May teach on some meetings


Other responsibilities

  • Attend all meetings

  • Seek own growth in Christ

  • Be prepared to assist with unforeseen circumstances

  • Reach out to youth during the week through phone calls, texts, social meetings, and one-on-one appointments
