Richard & Bettina Collins joined St. Andrew’s in 1996. Bettina has a background in missions, having been raised by missionary parents in Mexico. Richard, who has a Masters in Christian Apologetics from Biola University, is returning to the land of his birth with a heart for a country that has become deeply secularized. Their children —Rebecca, Madeleine and Luke—go with them!
Damaris International is specifically focused on equipping Christians to understand their faith and the culture in which they live, in order to become effective and obedient ambassadors for Christ. The ministry produces a broad spectrum of web-based resources for Christians to be used in helping them grow in their knowledge of God and their understanding of the spiritual need expressed within contemporary popular culture. The ministry focuses on churches and schools—equipping High School teachers in particular—and sends speakers all over the country to various venues.
Richard will be teaching in churches on Christianity and culture, leading seminars and half-day courses for Christians to equip them and encourage them in their spiritual growth. He will also be writing for the website and finally, he will be recording a daily five-minute commentary that will be downloadable off the website. The focus of the commentary will be encouraging and challenging Christians to engage their culture with the truth of the gospel.
The Collins’ will be living in Southampton on the south coast and they welcome visitors!
