Help Stop the Infanticide in Brazil! |
||||||
You must Act Now to save other kids from being buried alive!Please read to find out more ways to help ... We are trying to get the word out and rallying a call of action in regard to the children who are being buried alive in Brazil. The Brazilian government will decide in the next few days whether or not these children will have basic human rights. Every year dozens of children are buried alive in Brazil. Imagine a baby or a six-year-old buried alive because she is a twin or has a disability. Hakani is an infanticide survivor from the Suruwaha tribe. She was buried alive and miraculously rescued. Her story is making headlines around the world, and with the help of her tribe, has been made into a film, “Hakani: A Survivors Story” and book, “A voice for Life”. She is a voice for her people to rise up against this injustice. The link is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RbjRU6_Zj0U . There are several ways you can help that won’t take up a lot of your time, but will make a huge impact towards stopping the infanticide in Brazil. Here are some ways to help: 1) View the clip about Hakani mentioned above and pass it on. 2) Go to www.facebook.com and find the “Hakani” group. Join the group and invite all your contacts to join. Also check out www.Hakani.org. 3) Email your approval of Muwaji’s Law to: a) Arlindo Chinaglia (President of the Congress): dep.arlindochinaglia@camara.gov.br b) Pompeo De Mattos (President of the Congress’ Human Rights and Minorities Committee): dep.pompeodemattos@camara.gov.br c) Tarso Genro (Minister of Justice): Gabinetemj@mj.gov.br The Muwaji Law must be passed this month (June), recognizing indigenous people in Brazil as citizens and human beings. By passing this law, infanticide can be outlawed. Global groups and governments must put pressure on the Brazilian government, to ensure this law is not overlooked. Please use the sample letter I’m attaching or create your own and email it to the Brazilian Embassy in your Country. This is an urgent call to help the indigenous children of Brazil. Thank you so much for any help you can give to this cause. |
